Shooting Friends and Family

One of my favorite parts of being a photographer is being able to shoot the people closest to me and use them as models. For the upcoming Tarot Show at the Splendoporium Gallery (affiliated with my work at Art4Life), I decided to use my Mom to help me interpret a few of the cards in photographic form. The cards we used for inspiration on this shoot include the Five of Chalices, Temperance, and The Empress, though some remind me potentially of wand cards. We shot between 2 and 4 which is pretty harsh lighting, but the key to shooting in these conditions is finding the shade spots and working with the sunlight to not cast harsh shadows. Here are some snaps that I like, some of which I will consider for submission into the show. The location we shot at was Lucia Falls on the Lewis River, between Battle Ground and Amboy, Washington.
